Drug surrenderors register for TESDA trainings

Thirty-seven (37) drug dependents who surrendered to the Philippine National Police Office in Region 6 (PNPO-RO6) have registered with TESDA Iloilo Provincial Office (IPO) on November 8, 2016 for possible technical-vocational training interventions. The registrants compose the first batch of 45 drug surrenderors who have undergone rehabilitation and counseling services given by the PNP-RO6 on October 3-31, 2016. The rehabilitation program involved an intensive support group counseling with facilitators from Narcotics Anonymous (NA), an international organization that promotes mutual help addiction recovery for drug and alcohol dependents. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Region 6 launched October 19 the Barangay Kasanayan Para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayaan (BKPKK) program. With TESDA Director General/Sec. Guiling Mamondiong as guest of honor, the launching was witnessed by TESDA partners composed of students, heads of training institutions, local government officials and the private sector among others. TESDA Region 6 employees undergo drug test

Seventy-six (76) officers, regular staff and job hires (32 male/44 female) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Office 6, Iloilo Provincial Office and Regional Training Center (RTC)-Iloilo underwent voluntary drug testing on September 5-9, 2016. In his report to Dir. Pilar G. de Leon, TESDA Chief of Services for Administration, RO 6 Regional Director Toni June Tamayo said all of those who underwent the test gave negative results. 7 in 10 graduates of Cash for Training Program now employed
