TESDA Region 6 employees undergo drug test

Seventy-six (76) officers, regular staff and job hires (32 male/44 female) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Office 6, Iloilo Provincial Office and Regional Training Center (RTC)-Iloilo underwent voluntary drug testing on September 5-9, 2016.

In his report to Dir. Pilar G. de Leon, TESDA Chief of Services for Administration, RO 6 Regional Director Toni June Tamayo said all of those who underwent the test gave negative results.

This voluntary drug testing is in line with the government’s intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign and with TESDA’s Drug Dependents Training Program. This is also to regain the trust of the public and to manifest the sincerity of the agency in supporting the administration of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s call against illegal drugs.

The drug testing was conducted in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH) and Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) Drug Testing Laboratory in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Dir. Tamayo said that other TESDA Units distant from Iloilo City like Provincial Offices and Training Centers are encouraged to avail of government drug testing facilities in their respective areas. (AED/IPO/TESDA RO6)
